Inside the Operating System of The Ventura Meat Company 

Running a business has been the best classroom I’ve ever known. The lessons I’ve learned, and the mistakes I’ve made, have taught me more than I could have learned anywhere else.

I originally started writing this section to help people understand our shop. Why do we do things the way we do? Why are some cuts more expensive than others? Why do we stock the items we do?

Over time, what began as simple explanations turned into something broader. These pieces are rooted in meat and the daily realities of running a shop, but the ideas underneath them reach further. They touch on tradeoffs, perception, discipline, and the quiet mechanics that shape not just business, but life.
